Save Time, Skip the Line!

My name is Scott M. I was previously a student at Cosmos Computer Leaning Centre. While I was a student at Cosmos I developed a lot of essential skills including computer use, writing, oral communication, thinking and continuous learning skills, just to name a few. The Cosmos Teacher (Elvino A.) supported my skills development through one-on-one meetings, training in all relevant Microsoft Suite Programs. The experience I had with Cosmos has gave me the skills and confidence to start my own business and "excel" at life! Elvino A. has been one of the most inspiration influences I have ever met. I watched as he would go from student to student and change the way he would teach to that individual student. Theories and explanations would be specifically spoken for that student to understand (wow! the man can teach). My life has changed so much since I took his course, thank you so much Cosmos and thank you Elvino.

A very young individual with a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders, his whole family came to Cosmos for employment services. Ray was assisted to create a professional resume and cover letter and completed several employment workshops. Ray applied for jobs both online and in person and did a mock interview and questionnaire to further assist him in developing strong skills to find work. Ray’s hard work paid off as he found a full time permanent job with Walmart.

Robert is a dedicated and very committed individual who has worked extremely hard to find a job. When Robert approached Cosmos, he had not worked in 24 years and was living on AISH. Working with an Employment Consultant and Computer Facilitator, Robert was able to fill the gaps in his resume and update his skills and knowledge. Robert’s hard work and dedication paid off as he obtained a part-time permanent job with Walmart.

Linda had a cleaning business for the last 20 years but wanted to do something else. Although she had a Personal Aide certificate as well as a Massage Practitioner certificate, she was unsure where to start utilizing these important skills and education. Linda came to Cosmos for employment assistance and career transition. With the help of an Employment Consultant, Linda completed a Transferable Skills workshop and several sessions to discuss employment options. After getting help to design a professional resume and cover letter, and updating her computer skills, Linda found employment as a Support Worker with the Action Group.

Jie came to Cosmos asking for guidance in how to further pursue her Community Support Worker certification. Cosmos support Jie to work in the Community Options Program as a practicum student for 240 hours to complete her training. Jie learned an abundance of skills and knowledge while working with the qualified and experienced staff at Cosmos. In addition to this, Jie was assisted to create a professional resume and cover letter and has received several interviews.
